Lorimor city Council Meeting

March 23, 2006   Special Session

            The City Council met in special session, Thursday, March 23, 2006, with Mayor Kent Forbes presiding.  Council members present:  Davis, Orwan, Schmidt, Tucker.

            Schmidt moved to approve the agenda with a second from Davis.  Vote – all ayes.  Motion carried.

            Dave Mulholland, Community Building project engineer, presented pay request #3 in the amount of $21,618.20 from Pro-Line Company.  Davis moved to approve the pay request with a second from Schmidt.  Vote – all ayes.  Motion carried.

            Mulholland also presented change order #5 in the amount of $12,740.00 for the addition of storage rooms and office space.  Davis moved to approve the change order with a second from Schmidt.  Vote – all ayes.  Motion carried.

            Mulholland discussed drainage in the 400 block of Minnesota Avenue.  Various methods of removing standing water along street, including the placement of several culverts.

            Mayor Forbes presented a draft of the job description for the public works position.  Schmidt moved to approve the job description.  Second from Orwan.  Vote – all ayes.  Motion carried.

            Sue Schmidt and Dennis Orwan will be attending the SICOG Annual Meeting at Three Mile Lodge on March 29.   Up to five individuals may attend the Economic Development Seminar presented by Alliant Energy on April 12 in Creston.

            Orwan moved with a second from Davis to approve the change in natural gas suppliers from Cornerstone Energy to Clayton Energy Corporation.  Vote – all ayes.  Motion carried.

            Davis moved to adjourn.  Schmidt seconded.  Vote – all ayes.  Motion carried.
