Lakeshore Golf & Country Club

Hilly but great!Hilly but great!Message From The President

I can't believe another year has gone by; it was just yesterday Rick Foote and I agreed to his Presidency and mine to follow. Rick has done a great job the last year and I hope to follow his footsteps.

We have some new blood on the board again this year with John Kline, Milt Chapman and Linda Clark coming aboard. They have some big shoes to fill as John will replace Dennis Hance as the Treasurer and Linda is taking over Secretary duties from Becky Kelley. Both have done a great job for Lakeshore during their terms on the Board.

As we approach the new season, we are looking for great things again this year. The sale of the land south of #5 should be finished this month. That money will do something for Lakeshore that it has never had and athat is being debt free! "With Doug Seeley agreeing last year to be the "Greens Keeper", a term he still denies, we were on the right track, and he has graciously agreed to another year of taking care of the course for us. I know I felt the course looked as good or better last as it had in years. We all owe Doug a great thanks and if you see him, be sure to let him know.Mowing has to be fun!Mowing has to be fun!

Even though it sounds like a great deal of money coming from the sale of the land, after abstract costs, survey costs, attorney fees, and capital gains tax, we will have to see what is left and how it will be used in the future. If you have any ideas, be sure to let any of the board members know your feelings.

Again this year we will be having a play as a fundraiser. It will be a star studded production called "Irma's Boarding House". You can find the dates of the play here in the newsletter. The price of the meal and play are stating the same as last year, $17.50 a piece or $35.00 a couple.

Also in the newsletter, you will find the dates for Poker nights in February and March. If you haven't played Texas Hold'em, this is a fun and easy way to start. The stakes are not too high and there is also good fun to be had.

In closing, we are looking forward to a great year and will see you on the course.

Rick
