Jerusalem:

What is there about the city of Jerusalem that is causing all of the problems the world seems to be encountering these days? Nations are going to war over the old city. People are being killed. People are taking sides with either the Muslims, the Jews, and the Christians. Some have no interest at all. Our two major political parties are even divided according to their constituents.

This information is taken from From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "Jerusalem was the capital of ancient Jewish Kingdoms and is the capital of the modern State of Israel. It is the holiest city of Judaism and is of key importance to Christianity and Islam. The status of the eastern part of Jerusalem as part of the Israeli capital, and the control over that part of the city and its holy places, are internationally debated.

With a population of 704,900 (as of December 31, 2004 [1], it is a heterogeneous city, representing a wide range of national, religious, and socioeconomic groups. The section called the "Old City" is surrounded by walls and consists of four quarters: Armenian, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim."

Did you know that without Jerusalem there would be no State of Israel? Did you know that there will be no PEACE until there is Peace in Jerusalem? Did you know that the name JERUSALEM literally means "City of Peace?" Did you know that since the beginning Jerusalem has been anything but peaceful? Did you know that a lasting peace in Jerusalem will never come until Christ returns to establish that peace? (So much for man made and politically managed peace treaties huh?) Did you know that God has chosen Jerusalem for Himself? Did you know Jerusalem is also referred to as the City of Zion? Did you know that Jerusalem was the place where Solomon built the second Temple which today is STILL considered one of the 7 wonders of the world? Did you know that Jerusalem was where Christ was crucified? AND, did you know that Jerusalem is where Isaiah and Jeremiah and Lehi and other Prophets uttered words of such moral and spiritual importance that they still uttered today as principles to live by? Did you know that Jerusalem was the city where Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives and wept? Did you know?

In 2 Chronicles 6:6, 7:16, 33:7 we find these words; "I GOD have chosen Jerusalem, that My name might be there.... For now I have chosen and sanctified this house (The Temple) that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually..... In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen... I will put My name forever." And, in Psalms 132:13 we find David telling us, "For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place."

In the book of Ezra, chapter 4 and the book of Nehemiah, chapter 2 we find there are those who oppose the Jews rebuilding and occupying Jerusalem, even though Artaxerxes, King of Babylon had given them permission to do so. Those enemies were much like the present day enemies of Israel are today. The enemies of today are the cousins of the enemies of that day. (It never changes does it?) The Prophet Nehemiah told these enemies of the Jews this in Nehemiah 2:20. "Then I answered them, and said unto them, THE GOD OF HEAVEN WILL PROSPER US; THEREFORE WE, HIS SERVANTS, WILL ARISE AND BUILD; BUT YE HAVE NO PORTION, NOR RIGHT, NOR MEMORIAL IN JERUSALEM."

The same is true in the political struggle for Jerusalem today. The enemies of Israel have no portion, no right, and no memorial in Jerusalem. The Nations of this world have no inheritance at all in Jerusalem believe it, accept it and live with it. It is a fact! Yes, there will definitely be a war over this city, a terrible war. That war will engulf many Nations including us in this Nation. this is also fact. Are you ready?
