American Legion Auxiliary Regular Session on September 26, 2006

Fred N. Davis Post, Unit 96, Auxiliary met in regular session on September 26, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center. Meeting was called to order by President, Maurine (Sue) Schmidt.

Chaplain Linda Corsbie offered the opening prayer. Roll Call was answered by seven members: Mary Braynard, Linda Corsbie, Doris Jackson, Maurine Schmidt, Kathleen Seales, Mary Seales, and Lela Stonehocker. Roll Call was answered with a secret desire.

Preamble to the Constitution and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag were recited in unison.

The August minutes were read by Secretary, Lela and approved as read.

The Vacant Chair was read by Mary Seales.

Treasurer, Mary Seales gave the Treasurer's Report and it was approved as read.

Card Correspondent, Mary Braynard sent 15 cards.

Doris Jackson read the minutes of the American Legion Junior Auxiliary on September 21, 2006.

Awards from American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Iowa, for student who wrote assays on "What Freedom Means to Me" Certificates of Participation awards were received for East Union students Sarah Henrichs, Jeffery O'Neil, and Holly Ross.

Home Front Volunteer Service Awards were given to Mary Braynard, Mary Seales, Sue Schmidt, Kathleen Seales, and Lela Stonehocker. Poppy awards were awarded to Linda Corsbie and junior member, Mikayla Houseman for selling poppies Heritage Day.

Sue had material for the ALA coming year and materials for Junior ALA.

President's fund was reported.

Next meeting October 24, 2006 at 7 p.m.

Hostess was Mary Braynard. She served a delicious dessert.
