American Legion Auxiliary minutes

Fred N. Davis Post Unit #96 of the A.L.A. met in regular session on Tuesday, February 27th, 2007 with six members answering roll call.

Meeting was called to order by President Sue Schmidt. Kathleen Seales presented the colors. We said the Pledge of Allegiance in unison.

Chaplain Linda Corsbie offered the opening prayer.

The Preamble of the Constitution of the Auxiliary was said in unison.

Roll Call was answered by six members: Mary Braynard, Linda Corsbie, Maurine (Sue) Schmidt, Kathleen Seales, Mary Seales, and Lela Stonehocker.

Roll Call was answered with each member telling what they did during the big snow storm.

The Vacant Chair was read by Lela, and a candle was lit in observance of our POW/MIA's.

Mary Seales gave the report of minutes of the January meeting, as Lela was absent in January.

Minutes approved as read.

Card Correspondent, Mary Braynard gave the Card Report. She sent 14 cards.

Old Business was finalizing the Soup Supper on Saturday, March 24, 2007, to raise money for our junior ALA members to go to summer camp at Madrid, Iowa in June.

The President's Fund was reported.

We had Draping of our Charter in memory of our deceased member, Barbara King.

Mary Seales gave the eulogy. Members had many pleasant memories of Barb.

Chaplain Linda gave the closing prayer.

Meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m. Hostess Kathleen Seales had a delicious snack.

March hostess is Mary Seales.
