City Clerk Doris Loy removed from the appointed position of City Clerk

The City Clerk ( Doris Loy) was removed from the appointed position she held  as of January 27, 2016 in a Special Meeting after her evaluation. The minutes of that meeting will be posted.

I know everyone in the community wants and will want to know the future of the City of Lorimor. They will want to know how the City will fill the position that  is open at this time. Those are real concerns that will be addressed as soon as possible. The direction of this community is changing and will effect everyone in this community. We now have two audits in a short time frame that have to be evauated by the City Council. There will be areas in those audits that will have to be addressed. We don't even know if charges will have to be filed against anyone responsible for any illegal actions  that might have been done. This in itself will be a slow process. Hopefully none will  arise!

We have time to look at how the City is operated and what oversight issues that need to be corrected. We need to know that every decision the Council or the Mayor make are legal actions. We have a good attorney appointed to make sure we don't do anything wrong. I feel that he has done a good job so far and don't look for any more problems to surface in the future. This Council & Mayor will operate with the City Attorney, County Attourney, and any other Government Agency that might come into play.

One of the issues that bothered me was that  an appointed position and city worker  being hired that were not properly vented ( no background check and no reference check done by the City attourney) were allowed to work in our community for as long as they were allowed to. There is no excuse for a City Council to allow this type  of action to ever accure. Anyone allowing this type of action should be held accountable for those actions. I don't feel they followed their oath of office or fufilled their fudiciary responsibilities.

I think that everything will fall into place after all of the information is processed and the public is informed on what has really happened. I don't think anyone really knows at this time.

One of the things that bother me is the implied threats that are being leveled at the new Council Members and Mayor for trying exercise their official duties. I think the individuals initiating these threats should be charged and prosecuted for those types of actions. There is no room in this community for this.

For the rest of the citizens in the community, I am here to represent all of you and not anyone one certain group  or City Officials. I work for you not the other way around.
